Child Photos at Boettcher Mansion, Lookout Mountain in Golden Colorado

Every photographer loves a good snowy photo shoot, but not every client does.  In this case, the 'client' was my daughter and we were trying to get a great photo of her in this beautiful red coat and hat my mother got her for Christmas.  The plan was, get some beautiful snowy pictures of Magnolia and then order a canvas print or metal print for my mother for her birthday in February.  Well, after several trips to Boettcher Mansion on many snowy weekends, we didn't get the great shot that I envisioned, but my mom was happy and thats all that matters.  If you like this location and want to set up a photo shoot here, contact me for more information.

After many hours outside in the snow, with my daughter who hates touching snow, walking in snow, or anything besides looking out the window at snow, we managed this photo.  I love the snow coming down and her twinkling eyes after she had cried about being outside for a few minutes.  :)

This shot shows her personality, feisty!

Those big brown eyes come from my mother-in-law, all the kids have them.

The gazebo provided our concrete kid with something other than the snow to walk on...

She was ready to be done, so we packed it in, after a solid 20 minutes of picture taking.

Try #2 came after my mothers birthday, the result was similar...

After a few tries, we ended up using a photo from the very first shoot.  But, I guess that's how it goes with a feisty toddler!
Do you have any tips on how to get a toddler to take photos, please leave a comment?
